On 14 May 2020, the event of the German Cannabis Business Association e.V. (BvCW) took place in Berlin Mitte.
The entry into force of the Cannabis Act and the associated improvements, particularly in the area of medicinal cannabis, are an important milestone for the German cannabis industry. We are now looking ahead to the next necessary reforms towards an industrial cannabis law (including the abolition of the „intoxication clause“) as well as the planned „Pillar 2“ with model projects for the regulated supply of recreational cannabis. Take the opportunity to get in direct contact with the entrepreneurs in a relaxed atmosphere!
In addition to a rich buffet with hemp-containing foods, you can expect an open evening to get to know each other and network.
The programme included the opening speech by BvCW Managing Director Jürgen Neumeyer, a keynote speech „The future of industrial hemp for Germany“ by Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, and a keynote speech „Economic components of cannabis in Germany“ by Prof. Dr Justus Haucap (Director, Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE), Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf). The newly elected BvCW President Dirk Heitepriem concluded the speeches by answering current questions about medicinal and recreational cannabis, among other things.
