“After the relevant specialist politicians in the Bundestag across factions have voiced their support for necessary reforms in the CBD sector, there should be little standing in the way of a constructive dialogue for a regulated CBD market in Germany. The statements from the members of the Bundestag reflect a clear numerical majority in the parliament. As the cannabis industry, we look forward to the upcoming process and are happy to accompany the dialogue with both the legislature and the executive. In view of the recent CJEU ruling, steps toward legal certainty for market participants and consumers seem overdue.”

Recently, the cannabis industry proposed key points for a regulated CBD market in Germany. Among other things, the BvCW advocates setting threshold values for medical and non-pharmacy CBD products, quality controls, youth and consumer protection regulations, aiming to achieve a legally secure and practical CBD market.
