German Cannabis Business Association establishes new specialist department for the regulation of stimulants, new department coordinators appointed

New position of Quality Officer also filled

Berlin, 01/06/2022 – At its first board meeting of the year, the German Cannabis Business Association (BvCW) today decided to set up the new specialist department “Recreational Products Regulation”. This will provide technical support for the upcoming legal distribution of cannabis to adults. A corresponding working group has been in place since November 2021. Dirk Heitepriem (Canopy Growth Deutschland GmbH) was appointed coordinator.

Coordinators were appointed in the existing specialist areas of the BvCW:
Medical Cannabis: Dr. Armin Prasch (FoliuMed Pharma GmbH)
Industrial hemp & food: Marijn Roersch van der Hoogte (IG Nutzhanf GbR)
CBD & other cannabinoids: Lisa Haag (MJ Universe GmbH)
Technology, trade & services: Benjamin Patock (Boveda Inc.)

In addition, the position of Quality Officer for the BvCW was newly created and filled by Dr. Stefan Meyer (Neo-Livia GmbH).
