Berlin, 2020-10-25: The German Industry Association Cannabiswirtschaft e.V. welcomes the European Parliament’s initiative to once again promote industrial hemp varieties with a THC threshold of up to 0.3%.

Jürgen Neumeyer, Managing Director of the German Industry Association Cannabiswirtschaft e.V. (in formation), explains:

„The increase of the THC limit for European industrial hemp is long overdue. Especially during the past hot and dry summers, several hemp varieties exceeded the previous limit of 0.2% THC. The increase to 0.3% THC proposed by the European Parliament would be a sensible and much-needed relief for industrial hemp farmers and the processing industry.„
